We've used the basement much more this year than any other. We have a few couches down there, the entertainment center, some of the bigger toys that had previously clogged up the upstairs, Lily's (outdoor) swing, and our newest addition...?
We brought home two 8' long rolls of OUTDOOR carpeting from Lowes, at $8/linear foot (12' wide).
Here's the biiiig roll of carpeting being unrolled for us.
Here's Ryan trying to keep his cool while Lily dangles from the cart.
Now when our basement gets damp during storms and little trickles of water flow (by now, we know where to expect them), they won't permanently damage or absorb into the carpet. This carpet is MEANT to get wet. Super.
I love knowing the kids are playing on a nice new, clean carpet. It has not gotten wet yet — no heavy storms since we put it down a month or two ago — so if my opinion of it changes after its inagural shower, I will let you know.
Now, if we could only get the LAUNDRY area carpeted...or the area under the clothes line...that would rock.
