Happy House-iversary!

Three years ago, when we first moved in (2003):

At the Beginning - 2003

Two years ago, when we were just beginning construction (2004):

House with No Siding - 2004

Last year, when the inside still wasn't finished (2005):

Outside Looking Good - 2005

This morning, as we await our newest addition (2006):

Front of House - 2006

We've come a long, long way together...

The Office a.k.a. the Red Room

So we've been doing a looooot of unpacking lately. Hence the lack of posts, because really, how interesting would that be? "Unpacked 5 more boxes yesterday...yup." But we can see progress being made slowly every day, and that's a wonderful feeling.

Just don't ask to see how many boxes labeled "Electronics" are stacked in our office closet — though technically, that counts as unpacked. The more I tell myself that, the more I believe it.

It's amazing how many boxes of computer books and accessories you can unpack onto wonderful, adjustable homemade bookshelves:

Office Bookshelves

Ryan made these when were living in the condo, where our office was also red and our desks were similarly pushed together along one wall. Only now, they're under a big double window. It's so nice sitting at our desks with sunlight streaming in while looking out over the backyard...

Office - Dark

...when the shades are up, of course.

Desks

At night, we miss the track lighting over our desks like Ryan installed in the condo, but I don't think running more wiring is something we'll be in the mood to do again until, um, never.

P.S. We're looking for a pull-out sofa for this room, preferably no wider than 60". If anyone is looking to get rid of one, just let us know — have trailer, will travel.

OMG Leah! I just read that your pregnant!!! That's so wonderful!!! I last checked out your site in August, and missed the announcement in Sept. Your due in 2 weeks? Wow! I hope your pregnancy has been going well. You look great in your pics. The house is as beautiful as ever. Getting better by the minute. Mail me if you have a moment. I know in a few days you will not have ANY time with your sweet one arriving. Congrats to you and Ryan! Jackie
